Camp Searchlight Police Station

The Searchlight police station is an unmarked location found within Camp Searchlight in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas[5].

Before the Great War, the Searchlight police department played a key role in responding to a nuclear crisis. As the bombs began to fall, police diverted a convoy carrying nuclear waste from the San Onofre nuclear station. Two of the trucks were parked inside the Searchlight firehouse, as it was large enough to accommodate them, but a third truck—unable to fit—continued down Cottonwood Cove Road searching for somewhere to stop[6].

After the war, these trucks and the waste they carried remained abandoned in the area for over two centuries, resulting in lingering radioactive contamination that still affects Camp Searchlight and its surroundings during the events of Fallout: New Vegas[2]. The police station itself, like much of Camp Searchlight, stands as a haunting relic of the pre-war era, now emptied and irradiated, but containing resources and lore relevant to in-game quests[5].
