The LEGO Mountain Police Headquarters (set 60174) is a detailed playset from the LEGO City Mountain Police subtheme, released in 2018 and now retired^[1]^[3]^[4]. This set includes a two-level police headquarters equipped with a rotating satellite dish, net shooter, garage and vehicle ramp, jail cell with breakout wall, escape rope, office with desks, and a cave under the cell featuring a mountain lion pounce function^[1]^[6]. There is also a separate helipad with ladder.

For playability, the set features:

A police helicopter with spinning rotors and an opening cockpit
A crooks’ helicopter with spinning rotors, opening cockpit, and a chain with hook designed for jail breaks

Breaking the crook out of jail by hooking the cell wall with the crooks’ helicopter chain
Launching a net from the rooftop shooter to detain escaping crooks
Triggering the mountain lion to pounce at fleeing criminals using a hidden lever behind the cave

Accessory elements include mugs, golden bars, a binocular, radio, flashlight, megaphone, handcuffs, and a string net^[1].

The Mountain Police Headquarters offers imaginative storytelling possibilities, thanks to its unique mountain setting and mix of vehicles and action features. It was well received for playability, though some commented on the unrealistic aspect of building a police station over a lion’s cave^[2]. The Mountain Police subtheme included nine sets in total, all released in 2018^[4].
