Original Lego Police Station

The original LEGO Police Station was set number 381/588 Police Headquarters, released in 1978. This set featured a two-story headquarters with an office, cell block, garages for vehicles, a helipad, and a brick-built motorcycle, along with a convertible police car that would go on to define future LEGO police vehicles. The US release carried the number 588 and was identical in every way to its European counterpart[1].

Following the 1978 release, LEGO continued to evolve its police station sets over the years, introducing models such as the 6384 Police Station (1983), which integrated the helipad into the base plate and featured a larger office with a computer, and the 6386 Police Command Base (1986), which included recording devices and increased detail in the command center[1].

More recent notable releases include the modular LEGO Police Station (set 10278), launched on January 1, 2021. This set consists of 2,923 pieces and includes three floors filled with detailed interiors, a donut shop, a newspaper kiosk, five minifigures (including a 1940s-inspired officer), and plenty of story-driven features like a hidden escape route and secret donut shop access[2][4].
